Teen Dating Violence Prevention Workshop

The call to end teen dating violence was formally recognized by Congress in 2006, when both Houses of Congress declared the first full week in February "National Teen Dating Violence Awareness and Prevention Week."  Now, the entire month has been devoted to this cause.  As part of Brightway Center's goal of providing programs that address the mind, body and spirit, in February we will launch our Teen Dating Violence Prevention Workshop.

The workshop is designed to equip participants with the skills to recognize the warning signs and patterns of abusive relationships while arming them with the proper tools and resources to seek help for themselves or a friend.

This program creates a safe environment for youth to have open discussion regarding personal experiences, questions and concerns with dating abuse.

The Teen Dating Violence Prevention Workshop also provides positive healthy dating tips to encourage safe dating practices.

Workshops are available for male and female students, ages 14-18.  Males and females will be split into separate groups for a portion of the day and will be brought back together for discussion.

If you or someone you know is interested in participating, please call Jennifer Trehar, Director of Advancement, at 347-601-8000 or email her here.

THE NEXT WORKSHOP WILL TAKE PLACE ON SATURDAY, MAY 19TH FROM 10AM-3PM

The workshop is available for students grades 6-12.

Lunch and snacks will be provided.
